Hello all! So I've been wanting to start a photography blog forever and just never got around to it. I finally decided to just go for it instead of waiting for things to get less busy because, let's be real, that's never going to happen. I think it's safe to say 2017 will go down as the craziest year of our lives. We welcomed our precious baby boo, my husband is working two jobs and is in school full time and I photographed 24 weddings and countless sessions while simultaneously caring for a newborn full time. It's been absolutely nuts but totally inspiring and wonderful in ways I couldn't have imagined. I'll probably be pretty lax about this blog through the holidays but I'm hoping to feature some of my amazing clients on here and I may occasionally throw in mommy-life posts and how-to's on various photography subjects. Stay tuned!
I knew I needed to feature this session in a blog post. It was just too cool for my normal quick and easy posting format. Taryn and Dan's New Harmony Engagement session is a great example of how to plan a one-of-a-kind session. They wanted to combine their love for tacos and for each other and they came up with this idea completely on their own! I loved that I've never seen anything like it on Pinterest or anywhere else!
It's also a great example of how not to take yourself too seriously during your session. We still got all of the typical romantic poses (which are essential, don't get me wrong). But we also got silly and I cracked up so hard as they fed each other literal tacos in the gorgeous sunset light.
Please enjoy and feel inspired to do your own completely unique and super silly photo session. If you're stopped by the idea of "Oh I've never seen anything like this before. Should we do it?" Then the answer is YES DO IT. Also don't forget to scroll to the bottom for Taryn's Vegan Taco Recipe. Taryn sweetly made me one during our session so I've personally taste tested these and I was amazed at how delicious they are. And they're Vegan which is pretty neat.
Taryn's Vegan Tacos:
Any bag of meatless crumbles (they used Gardein which tasted great without any added seasoning)
1 can of diced tomatoes,
Vegan cheese (Follow your Heart shreds is great)
Step 1: Assemble
Step 2: Eat the tacos and make out with your partner
